I had a weird dream last night. I was playing DDR, and then all of a sudden I heard this loud crash from the basement, so I went down to see what it was, and when I got down there a wall was destroyed and there was a parakeet in a cage just sitting there. I was like "Cool, a bird broke my house!" and I went over to the cage and started talking to it, and it talked back, and then a bunch of little kids that looked like they lived in the jungle came running in and tried to steal my parakeet. But I would have none of that so I took the cage and ran, and somehow I ended up in a video store. I was excited because they had all the Disney movies I used to watch and I wanted to buy them all, but I couldn't because suddenly my mom appeared and was all "No! You can't have those!" and then I woke up.

In other news...uh...well, I don't have any other news.

Since Canada and America's birthdays are this week, I decided to make cookies.

Except frosting is the hardest damn thing to work with ever. Not that it's stopped me before. *coughavatarcupcakescough* And I didn't have any red food coloring to make red frosting, so I had to use neon pink. My mom said they looked gay. D:

Trying to make a maple leaf with frosting was impossible. But oh well. They taste delicious, they just look shitty.

Also, new journal layout! Y'know, just in case it wasn't obvious. >.>

Yesterday me and my dadday went out and got a new graphics card. But our computer is a senior citizen, and after dismantling it to put the card in, we discovered it didn't have a PCI Express slot. And then after we put it back together the sound stopped working. D8<

We thought we'd just take it back and get an older card, but they were 3 times the price and the guy at Best Buy said they had shitty performance too. So we decided it'd just be cheaper to get a new computer, since we desperately need one anyway. Which means I'll probably have to get an external hard drive and fill it up with all my crap on this computer and transfer it to the new one, cause my tiny-ass flash drive definetely won't fit all of it.

In non-computer-related news, Valkyrie came over today. She worked more on the picture she's been coloring with my tablet, and we watched the new volume of Darker Than Black that I got for my birthday. She also made me tea, and it was delicious.

BECAUSE SOMEBODY DIDN'T EVER MAKE ME THE TEA SHE PROMISED TO.

THAT'S RIGHT I'M TALKIN TO JOO MERRIAM.

:P

Also, I'm going to download a free trial for Adobe Illustrator. I've seen people do amazing stuff with it, and I wanna try it.

I'm not dead. Really.

I got back from Texas last Sunday. Much to my dismay we didn't really do much besides hang around my aunt Debbie's house. Which was fine I guess, because the only reason we were there was to visit her, anyway. We went shopping, and then to a museum. That was pretty much the extent of my Texas adventures. Kinda boring, but I still had fun.

On Tuesday, I went out and bought the Sims 3. Yay. Except it wouldn't work. Not yay. It kept restarting my computer every time I tried to install it. So I e-mailed the peoples at EA and they told me my graphics card was a piece of shit. Not in those exact words, but y'know.

And of course on Thursday I was thrown into the car yet again to go party it up at Merriam's graduation. We hung out with her family and a few of her friendlies from Arts. Much fun was had. But I had to leave early because my mom had a hyooge dinner to cater and needed my help. At least I got paid. Meh.

Today, I have to go buy a new graphics card. Also, I'm going to practice driving. Oh lawd.

Mmmkay, so today I had to get up at like 4 and spend 10 hours in a car on the way to my aunt Debbie's in Texas. It was brutal. XD

But I'm here now and the weather is great and aunt Debbie's house is freakin' awesome, but sadly we are no where near a beach like I intially thought we were going to be.

I'll write more later when we actually go do something. We're just chillin' right now.

Uh, yeah. So I haven't posted in like 10 years. Fixin' that now. >_>

I'm on summer vacation now wooooooooooot. Yesterday was my last day. And next year I'll be a senior oh jeez. Everybody's tellin' me to get started on scholarship stuff early, which I'll do. I'm worried about the whole college thing, though. I'm mostly afraid that I won't have enough money to go to KCAI, or even get accepted in the first place. I gotta get started on my portfolio, but I don't have anything good enough to put in it yet. Hell, I don't even know what I'm SUPPOSED to put in it.

I'd like to just forget about all this school stuff and enjoy my vacation, but this summer's gonna suuuuuuuuck, because Merriam's not going to be here. Ugh. Well at least I will (hopefully) be able to spend some more time with my biological mom. She's so awesome; I want to get to know her better.

I haven't done anything productive today. Even though I had chores to do and stuff to scan in. My dad's gonna be mad at me, but that's ok. I'll do it later, I'm a procrastinator! Hehe, it rhymes.

What I did do today was watch a movie called Shutter. I saw previews for it last year and I suddenly up and decided to watch it on the webbernet. Turns out it was yet another Hollywood remake of an Asian horror film. Big surprise, I know. So I watched the original Thai version first and then the remake. The remake had some good things going for it, but the original was by far the better of the two. The movie was about a guy who, when he was in college, dated a weird girl who nobody liked because he felt sorry for her. She was insanely, obsessively in love with him, but he never really fell in love with her so after a while he broke off their relationship. But she wouldn't let it go and pretty much stalked him, and so his friends drugged and raped her and took pictures of it so if she didn't leave him alone, they could use them against her. She eventually killed herself over it, and the guy moves on and tries to forget about it. A few years later he gets married and becomes a photographer. But he notices in all the pictures he takes the girl's ghost/spirt/thing is in them. And she tries to kill him and he and his wife have to find a way to stop her and you get the idea. The main reason the original one was better (and scarier) was the difference in cultures. Asian cultures are influenced by superstitions about the afterlife and spirits and stuff like that, and that affects the movies they make. All you ever see in American horror films is gore and boobs and guys with chainsaws, and I don't find that nearly as frightening as the simpler, more subtle and realistic horror in Asian movies. And when Hollywood decides to remake Asian horror movies, they spend more money on CGI and sex scenes and completely cut out all the little things that really get to you in the original version.

.....sorry, I kinda rambled a bit on that. But now I'm just gonna shut up and eat some mozzarella sticks.

Ok, so prom was last night. I didn't go of course, because prom is for losers who have that kind of money to waste, but I did go to after prom. It was at this family fun center, and we could bowl and play put put golf and ride go karts and stuff. I bowled for most of the night, along with Valkryie, Tay, and her boyfriend Russel, and I kicked their butts at it. Then we went to go ride the go karts. I got doubled up with Lacie, and as I was trying to fasten my seatbelt, she took off and I was hanging on for dear life and I shouted "DON'T YOU THROW ME OUT OF THIS THING!" and she just laughed at me. XDDD

I also got free stuff for college. The parents who helped with after prom did a bunch of fund raising and they were able to get really awesome stuff for the drawing. I won a digital camcorder, a nifty little lamp, and a mini fridge (because Skyler took my Wii D<)

I didn't get back till like 4 this morning. I practically just woke up. XD

Ok, so this morning I had to be at my school by 8 to take the ACT. Freakin' sucked. There is no good reason I should be at school on a Saturday that early. But I did pretty good on it...I think...I hope...I doubt it.

And after 4 hours of that shit, Josh gave me a ride to my mom's shop. I had to get a garage door opener so I could get into my house, and then I figured I'd just walk home. Weeeeell, there was a piece of wood on the sidewalk in front of me, and I didn't notice the nail that was sticking out of until it was halfway in my foot. ToT

And yesterday I attempted to skateboard, which ended in scraped/bruised elbows and knees, pulled muscles, and a very sore back. Srsly it's like I put one foot on the skateboard and all of a sudden the concrete came up and hit me in the face.

So now not only do I hurt in various places, I have to limp around like Mr. Fancher and his broken hip (since none of you go to school with me, you won't get that joke) because I can't put pressure on my foot.

In other news, Kilee is going to be here today. :3

Boredom at school has lead to my creating of lolcats. And apparently they have to be posted on PicOodle through my livejournal.

ANYWAY, I had a good day today. I hung out at Tay's after school and learned to play the guitar. Almost. In a way. It's a lot easier than I though it'd be.

I just drank a bottle of green apple Smirnoff. It tasted like Sprite. I feel all fuzzy inside. XD

...and it was pretty freakin' sweet. It was the biggest con I've ever been to. Compared to Nebraskon and Otaku Omaha though, the panels were kinda sucky. But there was a shitload of things to do around Crown Center, and even just sitting around and watching the people was fun. There were some amazing cosplayers, lemme tell ya. On the first day waiting in line for registration, we saw America, Britain, and Canada cosplayers (which Val absolutely HAD to get a picture of) and then on Saturday we saw a Hungary. All of which made me feel terrible for not getting my Russia cosplay put together in time, but I'm a slacker so yeah. There were also a lot of crossplayers. A really tall dude in a lacy blue Alice-lookin' dress was walking around, and my dad asked me if it was a guy and I said yes and he was like "...Oh." XD

There was a rave Friday night that we were all excited for. I even bought $10 worth of zydra- I mean blue glowsticks for it.  But it was delaaaaayed liek woah. It was supposed to start at 10, but it was 12:30 before they could let people in. We all stood in a huge mass around the exhibit hall for literally hours. And when we did finally get in it really wasn't all that good. So on Saturday we decided to just skip the rave and go swimming. And then we hung out with Merriam's sparkly friend Lathan who is heeeeeeelarious. Our conversation went from invisi-ninja-bitch-slapping, to how badass the show Hellsing is (which I have yet to ever see but I swear I will now) to how it's ok to rape Superman but a big no-no to rape Batman, to how today's science and knowledge of plants can make it possible to grow your own sex toys. Much fun was had.

We did end up going to some panels that weren't sucky before the weekend was out, thankfully. Photoshop painting with Doomsplosion blew my mind. They were two artists who's names escape me who have amazing photoshop talent that I envy with every fiber of my being. They had a booth in the Artist's Alley and Valkyrie ended up buying a Watchmen print they did.  And Merriam took lots of pictures with them. There was also an amazingly funny panel called Science of Anime, in which a guy with an astrology major who was reeeeaaalllyyy good at math and handling large numbers explained why Cloud and Sephiroth could not have jumped off of falling slabs of cement at the end of the Advent Children movie, how many universes (UNIVERSES, PEOPLE) of iron it would take to build a mecha that was the size of a galaxy like at the end of Gurren Lagann, and how Goku's power of OVER 9000.......watts could power a small home for 6 hours a day or make 180 funnel cakes. "Oh shit we broke relativity."

I also spent my dad's money unwisely in the dealer's room. I got a shirt that says "I <3 Yaoi" and then a yaoi paddle to go with it, a shiny necklace with the blue heart thingy from Kingdom Hearts on it, a pair of armwarmers me and Merriam now share, and a small box of weird Asian candy.

And thus concludes my Naka-Kon adventures. TL;DR much? >.>

OH YEAH, and Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Ally was released a few days ago, and Hannah was released today. they were both in the backseat, but Hannah was ejected from the car. She has a broken arm and her pelvis is out of wack, but all things considered she's doing really good. Me and Tay went to visit her today. Her arm looks awful though. It's all scraped and red and covered in skid marks. She's also got a pretty bad black eye, but other than that she's same old Hannah. :)

Unfortunately I can't say the same about Riss. She was in the front seat and also thrown from the car. She ended up being transferred to a hospital in Kansas City. She has 3 broken ribs and possibly brain damage. She had to be put on a ventilator too.

Tony's funeral is this Tuesday.

Ok, so last weekend when Merriam was down here for her 18th birthday she made me watch "Repo! The Genetic Opera" and it BLEW MY MIND. (If you don't believe me, go look at all my new icons.)

I'm obsessed liek woah. The soundtrack is constantly playing on my iPod, and I'm even going to start carrying around blue glowsticks like a zydrate junkie. XD

And to anyone who is reading this and hasn't got a clue what I'm talking about, have a trailer.

NOW GO BUY THE DVD BEFORE I MAUL YOU.
